The Unwritten Financial Disclaimer
Earlier this week I was talking to a financial advisor. She works for one of the largest banks/investment houses in the United States.
During our conversation I mentioned that she and her colleagues view investments in terms of money. I, on the other hand, being an engineer see the economy in terms of physical objects and energy. That is why I consider A Truly Extraordinary ExxonMobil Report as being so profoundly important. I said to her that I consider that report to be more important than the recent election.
The financial reports that I receive from her company include all the normal disclaimers. It would make sense to add another disclaimer. It would read,
Our advice and decisions are based on the assumption that infinite growth on a finite planet is realistic.
